To Debaters, Former Debaters, and everyone associated w/ the KCP Debate Team:
Most of you probably know that our bus driver for most of the tournaments since 2005 is Julia Hudson, the older sister of Jennifer Hudson. I heard on the news tonight that Julia's and Jennifer's mother and brother were found shot dead in their home, and Julia's son (who was on the bus w/ us on the way home from the last tournament) is missing. Police suspect the son is w/ William Balfour; Julia's husband, who also lived in the home and is a possible suspect in the double homicide. My thoughts and prayers go out to Julia tonight for her losses. I only hope Julia's son is alive and safe. Jennifer Hudson was out of town and is flying in from Florida.
For those of you who know Julia and would like to send your thoughts and prayers, I would suggest mailing a condolence card to Sunrise Transportation c/o Julia Hudson, 8500 S. Vincennes Ave. Chicago, IL 60620. I am planning on buying a card and having the current KCP Debaters all sign it.
